Job Opportunity - Students

The Police & Parking Office provides services for all parking aspects on campus including; Employee & Student permits, temporary permits, event parking, permit and citation payments, lot maintenance, and sign placement. We also provide police dispatch. Student workers will provide customer service to current, former, and prospective students, employees, and the greater campus community. 


  • Greet guests as they enter the Police & Parking lobby and ask them if they need any assistance. Assistance could include: buying a permit, paying a citation, officer contact, or giving directions to an office or campus location.
  • Answering the phone and helping the customers are the top priorities of our student office staff. Our student employees process and distribute mail, and respond to parking emails.
  • Other projects assigned by the Police Chief and the Police & Parking Office staff. 
  • Students who work in the Police & Parking Office are expected to stay informed about Police & Parking Office updates and events by reading campus emails, noting messages posted, and all other information sent to them by their supervisor.


  • Excellent people skills: in this position you are the first face people see when they visit the Police & Parking Office. Our student staff are the first person contact on incoming phone calls.
  • Resourcefulness: you will not always know the answer, but you should be willing to assist in finding an answer.
  • The ability to learn policies and procedures of the university: there will be training. There is a lot of information that you will need to know, but it is essential that we are providing it correctly.
  • An excellent sense of responsibility and time management: We rely on you to be on time and be in the office when scheduled.  We will schedule around your class schedule and understand you are a student first.
  • Willing to follow UWRF Police & Parking dress code.
