Academic Staff Council
The UWRF Academic Staff Council (ASC) is the legislative arm of the academic staff. The ASC gives a voice to academic staff at UWRF to help participate in shaping decisions affecting academic staff. The ASC promotes education, professional development activities, and communication between the academic staff members and the broader UWRF community.

Calendar
The ASC meets in-person in the University Center (see schedule for meeting rooms) on the third Thursday of each month from 10-11:30 a.m. We also offer an option to join virtually through Microsoft Teams.
*Spring 2025 meetings are tentatively scheduled for the third Thursday of each month, pending ASC member availability. Any changes to spring 2025 meeting dates, times or locations will be announced as soon as possible.
In compliance with Wisconsin Open Meetings Law, agendas will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Meeting minutes will be posted after review and approval by the Council.

Standing Committees

Purpose: The Academic Staff Compensation Committee (ASCC) reviews academic staff compensation issues and policies, informs academic staff regarding current academic staff personnel/compensation issues and reviews applications regarding promotion, title change, career progression and major change in duties.
Membership: Academic Staff Council Chair, Human Resources designee, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Purpose: The Chapter 6 Committee reviews all sections of Chapter 6 (Academic Staff Personnel Policies and Procedures) of the Faculty and Staff Handbook on an annual basis to ensure the chapter is up to date, makes changes as required by UW System Administration and/or as voted upon by Academic Staff Council and ensures that changes are reflected in the online version of the Faculty and Staff Handbook.
Membership: The committee shall be led by a member of the ASC executive committee and will be comprised of at least three members of the Academic Staff Council plus one Human Resources representative.
Purpose: The Positive Action Committee (PAC) conducts the duties outlined in the Faculty and Staff Handbook Subsection 6.10.7 Formal Grievance Procedure.
Membership: Led by the ASC Vice-Chair, plus two other ASC members, a Human Resources Unclassified representative and two at-large academic staff employees.
