Why Study Engineering Technology?

Major/Minor | Engineering/Technology | CAFES

Engineering technology is a broad career field encompassing most areas of engineering, including agricultural and off-road machinery, civil and environmental engineering, food and bioprocessing engineering, test engineering and machinery/systems management.

As an engineering technology major, you'll build a foundation of introductory level math, science, economics and communications courses. By your sophomore year, you'll be taking hands-on courses in surveying, materials testing, food technology, engines and much more. These hands-on courses prepare you for professional paid internships and a future career in the engineering field.

Engineering technology majors select an option to focus on in one of four areas:

Agricultural Systems Management (ASM)
Civil and Environmental Engineering Technology (CEET)
Food and Bioprocessing Technology (FBS)

Test Engineering Technology (TET)
