UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Feb. 23, 2023 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls choral students and the Woodbury (Minn.) High School Choir sang together and to one another Monday afternoon in Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on campus as part of the university’s first choral exchange with an area high school.
Cera Babb, UW-River Falls director of choral activities, said she coordinated the exchange as Woodbury students returned from a short performance tour to Chicago.
“For them, the goal was a positive final stop on tour. For us, the goal was for our supportive choral community to engage with a nearby high school,” Babb said. “Exchanges are a great way to connect with high schools, use our beautiful performing space and showcase our choir as a positive, musical and inviting group they can join if they decide to come to UWRF. It gives high school students the opportunity to literally see themselves on stage on a college campus.”
