UWRF to host URSCA Fall Gala on Dec. 2 

Event to showcase students’ research projects across academic disciplines 

River Falls, Wis. – Students’ high-level research will be on display at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity (URSCA) Fall Gala on Tuesday, Dec. 2.  

The annual event highlights the research and scholarly displays of undergraduates whose work include research posters, oral presentations, artwork, short films and interactive displays. 139 students will take part in this year's event. 

The public is invited to attend the event, scheduled for 4-6:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom in the University Center, 501 Wild Rose Ave., River Falls. Opening remarks are scheduled for 5 p.m.  

Event attendees can engage with students and learn about their research projects, which cover a wide range of topics.  

“We are excited to showcase the incredible scholarly and creative contributions our students are pursuing,” said URSCA Director Molly Gerrish. “This event is a signature highlight for our campus, demonstrating the breadth and depth of content expertise, innovative programming and student engagement across disciplines. Undergraduate research is recognized as a high-impact practice that fosters deep learning, belonging and career readiness, and UWRF is proud to support and celebrate our students’ achievements in this transformative work.” 

UW-River Falls hosts the Fall Gala annually. Undergraduate students are also encouraged to present their research at state and national locations, as well as at discipline-specific conferences.
