Registration open for summer ACT test prep
April 18, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Continuing Education office has opened registration for the annual ACT Summer Institute, an intensive ACT test preparation course held on campus for high school students looking to prepare for the ACT test and increase their scores. Live-online ACT prep classes are also available.
 
UW-River Falls to host workshop on understanding the transgender experience
April 15, 2019—The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host “Growing Up Transgender” on Wednesday, June 12, in partnership with UW-Eau Claire. The day-long workshop is designed for professionals who play a role in caring for and advocating for transgender youth.
 
UW-River Falls to host Invention Project® summer day camp for young innovators
March 25, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, in partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF), will host Invention Project®, an innovation-themed summer day camp June 24-28 for children entering grades 6-8.
 
Graduate program tuition discount deadline extended
January 3, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has extended the deadline for teachers and other educational professionals to apply for a tuition discount to the Professional Development Learning Community master’s degree within the College of Education and Professional Studies.
 
2019 Vento Scholarship awarded to UW-River Falls graduate student
December 17, 2018 - A graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is the 2019 recipient of the Bruce F. Vento Science Educator Scholarship. Charles William Hunter IV, of Mahtomedi, Minn., is pursuing his master’s degree and licensure as a secondary school science teacher through the university’s STEMteach graduate program.

December 17, 2018 - For a limited time, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is offering a tuition discount to teachers and other educational professionals who apply to the Professional Development Learning Community master’s degree within the College of Education and Professional Studies.

October 22, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has partnered with a national training provider to offer workforce development classes, certificates and certifications that are 100% online.

October 4, 2018 - Six University of Wisconsin-River Falls students enrolled in the online Bachelor of Science in sustainable management degree completion program have each received $800 awards this fall.

June 4, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will offer its graduate Montessori teacher education program for early childhood in partnership with the Montessori School of Waukesha beginning this summer.
 
Registration extended for test preparation classes
May 18, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is still accepting registrations for summer classes that prepare college-bound students to take the ACT or GRE admissions exams. In addition, the UWRF has extended the early registration discounts for the June and July classes.

May 4, 2018 -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls still has funds available for tuition stipends for students enrolled this summer in a graduate-level program for an initial teacher license.
 
UWRF to offer summer ACT test preparation classes
April 17, 2018--The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will offer test preparation classes in June and July for high school students planning to take the ACT, a popular admissions test measuring academic readiness for college. Students may attend one of two four-day sessions beginning June 4 at the UWRF Hudson Center in Hudson or July 9 on the UW-River Falls campus.

Vento Scholarship awarded to UW-River Falls graduate student
December 20, 2017--A graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is the 2018 recipient of the Bruce F. Vento Science Educator Scholarship. Rebecca (Becca) Stump of Tomah completed her biology major at UW-River Falls and is currently enrolled in the university’s STEMteach graduate program.
 
Future STEM teachers receive tuition stipends for graduate program
November 20, 2017-- Ten graduate students of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls have received financial stipends from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to cover costs of their studies and start new careers teaching science or math.
 
UW-River Falls expands options for admissions test prep classes
October 26, 2017-- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has expanded its test preparation classes for students who plan to take pre-college or graduate school admissions exams. Adding to the ACT, GRE and GMAT exam classes began this summer and fall, the Continuing Education Office now provides classes for the SAT and LSAT exams and schedules for all exam preparation classes into 2018.

August 17, 2017-- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls now offers online test preparation classes that will give graduate school applicants the tools and strategies needed to succeed on popular graduate admissions exams. A highly qualified instructor delivers these classes live via the web to provide the interactivity of a classroom experience with the convenience of an online course.
 
UW-River Falls student receives national scholarship for Montessori teacher education
August 14, 2017-- A national teacher education scholarship from the American Montessori Society (AMS) has been awarded to a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Taylor Brendmoen of Minneapolis is enrolled in the UW-River Falls Montessori Teacher Education Program and will be earning her early childhood Montessori credentials and master’s degree next spring.
