UW-River Falls commencement is May 15 at River Falls High School

May 5, 2016 — More than 800 University of Wisconsin-River Falls bachelor's and master's degree students will participate in three separate commencement ceremonies at River Falls High School on Sunday, May 15. The change in venue is due to the construction of the new Falcon Center, set for completion in 2017.

The first ceremony begins at 9 a.m. for the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and the College of Business and Economics. The second ceremony at 1 p.m. is for the College of Education and Professional Studies and Graduate Studies. The third ceremony at 4 p.m. is for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Chancellor Dean Van Galen will preside over the ceremonies and confer degrees. Graduating senior Sarianna Gaugert, a music and communicative sciences and disorders major, will sing "The Star Spangled Banner" at the 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. ceremonies. Graduating senior Haley Berscheid, a modern language (French) and music major, will sing at the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Special recognition will be given to the 2016 Distinguished Teacher Ian Williams, geology professor, and to the Distinguished Alumnus Brad Hewitt, CEO, Thrivent Financial.
