Why Study Animal Science?
The largest major at UWRF, animal science is housed in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences. A comprehensive major, animal science encompasses all aspects of domestic animal production, including feeding, breeding, health and management, as well as the processing of food and fiber products derived from animals.
As an animal science major, you’ll receive a rich educational foundation, rooted in both science-based classroom work and hands-on learning at our lab farms. You’ll see firsthand how disciplines such as agricultural business, agricultural engineering and crop science work in tandem with animal science, ultimately preparing you for the challenges of today’s animal industries.
