The following schedules are for on-campus Orientation for students beginning in summer or fall 2023 terms. 

Orientation dates for students beginning in the summer/fall 2023 term: 

First Year Students: June 12, June 13, June 15, June 16, June 19, June 20, June 22, June 23
Transfer Students Only: June 7, June 8

This schedule is for incoming first-year students who signed up to attend the full Orientation from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

7:00-8:00 a.m.

Check-In and Breakfast

Come grab some free breakfast in Riverside Commons and get all the materials you'll need to have a successful Orientation session. When you are finished, stop by the Riverview Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the University Center until 7:45 a.m. for information sessions on: 

  • Career Services
  • Disability Resource Center
  • Honors Program
  • Military and Veteran Resource Center
  • Student Athletes
  • Student Support Services

Falcon101

The most essential things to know about your future community - how you’ll make connections, transition socially and academically and be successful in your first few weeks on campus. We’ll introduce you to campus traditions, talk about all the upcoming events you’re invited to and help you explore future involvement opportunities.

10:00-10:30 a.m.

The Inside Scoop on UWRF

Who are you? Who are we? How will you fit into the community at UWRF? We’ll explore the answers to these questions, discuss our community of care, our code of conduct, the levels of support you have at UWRF and more. We’ll also discuss diversity, inclusion and belonging and why they matter.

10:30-11:00 a.m.

A Day in the Life of a Falcon

Come prepared with questions for current UWRF students. They'll talk about what a typical student day looks like and give you the opportunity to ask anything you’re wondering about.  

11:00-11:45 a.m.

Lunch

 

11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Meet with an Adviser

This time is reserved for you to meet an adviser and talk about your major, minor, prior credits and more so you’re prepared for the next session - registering for your first semester of classes.

12:30-3:30 p.m.

Class Registration and Campus Resource Session Rotations

While you're waiting for your turn to register for classes, learn more about campus resources like Title IX and Violence Prevention, Student Health and Counseling, Campus Recreation, Residence Life, commuting to campus and Financial Aid and Student Billing. We'll keep you on track so you can get the information you need from these resources and still have plenty of time to register.

3:30-4:00 p.m.

Resource Fair

Explore resources at UWRF and be sure to get any questions you have about campus answered! If you haven't completed the below steps, make sure to do so before leaving campus:

  • Sign a housing and dining contract or submit an exemption request
  • Select your residence hall room and roommate
  • Sign up for direct deposit
  • Purchase a parking permit
  • Sign up for Jump Start
