UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
September 11, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has always prided itself on providing an exceptional education at an affordable price. According to a recent college ranking article in the Wall Street Journal, UW-River Falls students agree.
UW-River Falls was ranked 8th in the nation in the category of schools ranked highest by their students for being worth the expense.
The Wall Street Journal partners with Times Higher Education College Rankings in developing its annual survey. Based on roughly 174,000 survey responses over the past two years, each school was scored on a 10-point scale. In addition to being ranked #8 in the nation by students as being worth the expense, UW-River Falls was the highest such ranked institution, public or private, in the Upper Midwest.
“This recognition is meaningful because it comes from our students and affirms that UW-River Falls provides an excellent yet affordable education,” said UW-River Falls Chancellor Dean Van Galen. “We are delighted to be recognized as national leaders in student value.”
College is an investment that prospective students and families take seriously. UW-River Falls provides a scholarship guarantee to every new freshman who demonstrates strong academic potential. Scholarships are renewable for a second year with a 3.0 GPA and progress toward a degree.
“Affordability is an important consideration for many of our students and their families,” said Sarah Nelson, executive director of admissions. “These rankings confirm our value – the opportunities students have while at UWRF is worth the investment.”
In the 2018-19 academic year, UWRF awarded over $2.4 million in scholarships.
