UW-River Falls to offer Halloween carnival and “Haunted Lab” science demonstrations Oct. 20

Oct. 12, 2026 – Two special Halloween-themed events are planned at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Tuesday, Oct. 20, including a Halloween carnival and “Haunted Labs” science demonstrations.

Children in 4K through fifth grade are invited to attend the annual “Halloween in the Halls” event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., hosted by UWRF Residence Life. Instead of trick-or-treating through residence halls, Residence Life will host carnival activities, such as cornhole, apple bobbing, an egg walk, a bouncy house, crafts and sticker activities. The carnival will be held behind Grimm and Parker Halls, in front of Hathorn Hall and between Johnson and May Halls. Volunteers will distribute candy throughout the event. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume and enjoy a fun evening on campus. Check @uwrfreslife on Instagram or UW-River Falls Residence Life on Facebook for cancellations or event updates.

The same evening, the UWRF Society of Physics Students and UWRF Chemistry Department Chem Demons will host “Haunted Labs,” featuring Halloween-themed science demonstrations for all ages, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Science and Technology Innovation Center (SciTech), 262 E. Cascade Ave.

Both events are free and open to the public.
