UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
April 19, 2021-- University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson today announced five finalists for the position of chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, a university with approximately 6,000 students and more than 70 areas of study in four distinct colleges.
An 11-member Search and Screen Committee, led by Regent Scott Beightol, chair, and UWRF Dairy Science Professor Sylvia Kehoe, vice chair, recommended a list of finalists. The Special Regent Committee determined that the following finalists will continue in the selection process.
The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are:
Interim Chancellor, University of Wisconsin-River Falls
President, Delaware Valley University
Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Minnesota State College and University System
St. Paul, Minn.
President, State University of New York, Delhi
Al S. Thompson, Jr.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
Next week, the candidates will participate in separate public forums, offering opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to interact directly with them.
After a review of campus feedback, the Special Regent Committee comprised of Regents Scott Beightol, Amy Blumenfeld Bogost, Becky Levzow, Corey Saffold, and Kyle Weatherly, and President Thompson will interview finalists and select a candidate to forward to the full Board of Regents, which must approve the appointment.
The person selected through this process will be the 20th chancellor at UW-River Falls.
