UW-River Falls Seeks 2013 Career Fair Exhibitors

August 1, 2013-- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) is seeking employer involvement for the Career Fair on Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center. This event was a recruiting opportunity for more than 80 organizations in 2012.

The annual Career Fair gives students the opportunity to meet and network with potential employers and graduate schools. Students learn about internship and career opportunities with employers that relate to their current area of study.

"I gained an invaluable experience speaking with professionals in my field of interest, gaining a better understanding of the jobs which are available to me, and learning to be proactive in the outcome of my own future," a past attendee stated.

UWRF Career Services has increased their efforts to prepare students for the Career Fair by enhancing the prep session offered two days before the event. The session will feature interactive stations for students to learn about and practice networking, conversing with recruiters, creating appropriate application materials, dressing professionally, and researching attending organizations.

UWRF has a reputation for offering quality academic programs in more than 45 degree areas within the four colleges:  the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and Professional Studies, the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences and the AACSB accredited College of Business and Economics.

Career Fair registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis with a maximum capacity of 90 booths.  UWRF Career Services encourages interested parties to register as early as possible. Registration is open with registration costs of $300 through Aug. 30 and $325 beginning Aug. 31. The registration deadline is Sept. 27. More registration details and information can be found at www.uwrf.edu/careerfair or by contacting Mickey Berkoben, Career Fair Coordinator, at cfcoordinator@uwrf.edu or 715-425-3572.
