UW-River Falls Presents Chill on the Hill Summer Concert Series

June 5, 2013--Crankshaft and the Gear Grinders will be the first featured performance of this summer's Chill on the Hill free Tuesday concert series presented by UW-River Falls. Crankshaft and the Gear Grinders will perform at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at the outdoor Melvin Wall Amphitheatre on campus. The concert will bring rockabilly back to its roots with their unique American folk rock and blues sound.

The remaining eight summer concerts will provide the opportunity to see some of our favorite local acts, while inviting a few new bands to the amphitheatre stage. The concerts, all beginning at 7 p.m., include:

  • June 25, Matthew Santos (Soulful piano rock) and Takenobu (Modern cello)
  • July 2, Kids from Wisconsin (Youth show choir)
  • July 9, Roe Family Singers (Good time old time)
  • July 16, Jack Klatt and the Cat Swingers (Western swing)
  • July 23, St. Croix Valley Community Band (Ballads and marches)
  • July 30, Tommy Bentz Band (Jam style rock and roll)
  • Aug. 6, Chris Silver Band (Eclectic roots)
  • Aug. 13, The Pines (Indie Folk Americana)

Grilled food, beverages, ice cream, and Rush River beer will be available for purchase at all concerts. Carry-in alcoholic beverages are prohibited, but personal picnics and beverages are allowed. Smoking is prohibited and dogs must remain on leashes.

In the event of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved indoors to the University Center, where food and beverages will still be available for purchase.
