UW-River Falls Student Presents Art Degree Exhibition

April 8, 2011—University of Wisconsin-River Falls student Cassie Johnson is set to present her BFA degree exhibition at the Chalmer Davee Library on campus April 24-May 14. BFAjewelryexhibit2

Johnson has composed a unique collection of silver jewelry that is organic in form and incorporates different uses of natural and cut stones. The jewelry pieces range from small pendants to large ornate neckpieces, as well as bracelets and rings. She tries to keep an organic feel in every design, while still being able to vary them from more delicate and airy designs to more solid and compact ones. She enjoys giving attention to every detail and the surprise and wonder that comes with that.

Johnson, a Cloquet, Minn., native, and has been creating jewelry since her second year at UW-River Falls. She will graduate in May and plans to continue to explore this medium that she has come to love.

The exhibit is free and open to the public. Johnson’s work may be viewed in the Davee Library during regular business hours. For further information, contact the library at 715-425-3321.
