UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
April 30, 2015 -- Theatre students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will showcase what they have learned over the past semester by presenting a three-night event of student-directed one acts Tuesday-Thursday, May 5-7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Syse Theatre in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building. The shows are free to anyone who wants to come and support the student's work and witness short plays ranging in themes.
The event is designed to showcase the talent and hard work of the students in the Stage and Screen Arts course. The course, not just for theatre majors but also a requirement for minors within the program, helps prepare students to organize and structure meetings in a unique way that will assist them past the theatre aspect of the course. The success of the students comes from the participation of the community and peers to create an atmosphere where the actors can work off the audience.
"Having a directing class at UWRF gives myself and other the opportunity to see and experience theatre in a small town atmosphere," said Lisa Miske, a current student and presenter at the one-act event.
