Summer Concert Series Begins June 12

May 31, 2012--The free annual outdoor summer concert series, "Chill on the Hill," kicks off June 12 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

The Tuesday concerts begin at 7 p.m. during June, July, and August, in the Melvin Wall Amphitheatre, located on campus along the South Fork of the Kinnickinnic River.

The series begins with Charlie Parr (Americana/roots) with Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles (gypsy/folk/rock) on June 12. Other performances include:

June 19: Tommy Bentz Band (rock/blues).
June 26: Chris Silver Band (roots/jam).
July 3: Kids From Wisconsin (show choir).
July 10: Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps (Indie/pop).
July 17: Bad Habits Brass (funk/soul).
July 24: St. Croix Valley Community Band (march/ballad).
July 31: Yawo (Afrobeat/reggae).
August 7: Shoeless Revolution (funk/rock) with Luna and the Sunbrothers (jazz).

The concerts are free and open to the public. Grilled food, beverages, and ice cream are available for purchase. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnic lunches are encouraged, but carry-in alcohol is not permitted.
