St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra Presents Concerts at UW-River Falls

March 3, 2014--The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra hosts concerts Friday, March 7, at noon, and Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m. at the Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building at UW-River Falls. 

The concerts feature Guest Conductor Layton "Skip" James from the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, acclaimed Metropolitan Opera Vocalist Margaret Jane Wray, plus violinists Kristin Cassada and Sharon Zietrath. 

Join the SCVSO as they celebrate the "Year of Germany" with music by Mozart, Wagner, and Mahler including Mozart's "The Magic Flute Overture," Bach's "Double Violin Concerto," Mozart's "Masonic Funeral Music," Wagner's "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral," Mahler's Song Cycle, "Ich bin der Welt," "Ich atmet einen linden Duft," "Blicke mir nicht" and an arrangement of "You'll Never Walk Alone."  

Friday's concert is supported by Kast Productions/UWRF Music Department/Friends of UWRF Music and is free to the public. Sunday's concert has an admission of $5/adults; $3/seniors; $2/students. A reception follows each concert.
