Business and IT Degree Open House for Working Adults
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host an open house for adults and working professionals from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, at the UW-River Falls Hudson Center, 2501 Hanley Road, Suite 200, in Hudson. Whether seeking or advancing a career in business or computer science, UW-River Falls offers flexible degree tracks that are suitable for any life situation.

College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences Awards 151 Scholarships and Recognizes Outstanding Service
Scholarships totaling $151,000 were awarded to continuing students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) 49th Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet April 23.
 
Elsesser Receives 2015 Regents Academic Staff Excellence Award
Jennifer Elsesser, assistant director of Counseling Services at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has been selected to receive a 2015 Regents Academic Staff Excellence Award for an individual. She will be presented the award at the UW System Board of Regents meeting June 5 at UW-Milwaukee.
 
Kofiro Named Outstanding Recent Alumnus
Ali Kofiro received the University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) Outstanding Recent Alumnus Award May 5. Kofiro is both the first Somali school counselor in Minnesota and the first Somali graduate of UWRF’s Counseling program. He graduated in 2010.
 
Online Giving Day a Huge Success
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Foundation hosted its first ever online giving day, the Falcon 5K, on May 1. Set with a goal of $5,000 based on results at similar universities, the Falcon 5K received 167 gifts and raised $18,585 in just 12 hours.
 
Record Number of Adult Degree Completion Students Receive Degrees
A record number of University of Wisconsin-River Falls Adult Degree Completion (ADC) program students received their degrees during Spring Commencement May 16.
 
Sanden Named Outstanding Faculty Member
Eric Sanden, professor of Conservation and Environmental Planning at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, received the 2015 Outstanding Faculty Award at the 49th Annual College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) Scholarship and Awards Banquet April 23.
 
SoPOD Team Reaches Semifinals of International Business Model Competition
An innovative plan by a group of University of Wisconsin-River Falls students to market a biodegradable soap pod earned them a top spot at an international business competition on May 2.
 
Tauchen and Van Rossum Named Outstanding Seniors in College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences
Two University of Wisconsin-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) students were named Outstanding Seniors at the annual CAFES Senior Supper April 29.
 
Two Students Selected to Receive Ranee May Dairy Internship Awards
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) Animal and Food Science Department has selected Leah Granlund of Blair and Mariana Scoqui Guimaraes of Sao Jose do Rio Pardo, Brazil, for the Ranee May Dairy Internship Award. Ranee May, who retired from UW-River Falls as Dairy Plant manager in 2011, in conjunction with the Animal and Food Science Department, established a fund to support students undertaking academic internships in the UWRF Dairy Plant.
 
UW-River Falls Spring Commencement is May 16
An expected 682 bachelor's and 80 master's students will participate in commencement ceremonies at UW-River Falls on Saturday, May 16. Total graduation applications total 941, but not all choose to participate in the ceremony.
