10th Annual Bowls for Hope event raised $8,000 for River Falls Sunshine Fund
March 21, 2019 -The 10th annual Bowls for Hope event held March 5 at UW-River Falls raised $8,000 for River Falls Sunshine Fund. Each year UWRF collaborates with the community to raise funds through Bowls for Hope for a worthy organization that makes a difference in the St. Croix Valley.
 
53rd Commissioned Composer Concert with Alan Ferber is April 4
March 21, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will welcome featured composer Alan Ferber to Abbott Concert Hall in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building on Thursday, April 4, at 7:30 p.m. for the university’s 53rd Commissioned Composer Concert. The concert is free and open to the public.
 
Equestrian team earns top honors at regional final and IHSA semi-final events
March 21, 2019 - After outstanding results at regional finals held Feb. 23-24 and IHSA semi-finals held March 15-16, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western Team now has their sights set on IHSA nationals in Syracuse, N.Y., May 3-6.
 
Galler to speak on ‘What Drives Innovation Excellence?’
March 1, 2019 - Eric Galler, whose leadership spans nearly 30 years at 3M, General Mills, and Pillsbury in key operating positions, strategic marketing assignments, and innovation strategy roles is the Innovator in Residence for Spring 2019 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Galler will speak on “What Drives Innovation Excellence?” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Riverview Ballroom, University Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
 
Montgomery to speak on ‘Growing a Revolution: Bringing Our Soil Back to Life’
March 15, 2019 - Guest speaker David Montgomery, professor of geomorphology at the University of Washington, will present "Growing a Revolution: Bringing Our Soil Back to Life" on Tuesday, March 19, at 5 p.m. in North Hall Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The lecture, discussion and book signing are free and open to the public.
 
Personal stories of living with autism to be shared  
March 25, 2019 – The Moreland family of River Falls will share personal stories of living with autism and mental health on Tuesday, April 2, during two time slots at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The first session is from 10 a.m.-noon in the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center and a second session is from 6-8 p.m. in North Hall Auditorium. Both sessions are free and open to the public.
 
Pottery-centric exhibition part of NCECA Twin Cities show
March 11, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Art Department is presenting a public pottery-centric exhibition, Abstracting, using the works of five contemporary studio potters to communicate the relevance and function of abstraction as it relates to the way that pots are carriers of culture and/or human identity(s). The free exhibition is open through April 3 in Gallery 101 in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.
 
Public invited to Mental Health Awareness Week events
March 25, 2019 – Join University of Wisconsin-River Falls students, faculty and staff in raising awareness about mental health and discover resources for those in need of support during Mental Health Awareness Week events April 1-9 on campus. Activities are free and open to everyone.
 
Reimagining the liberal arts forum on essential skills for graduate success set for March 19
March 15, 2019 - As a part of the Reimagining the Liberal Arts at UWRF Strategic Initiative, UW-River Falls is hosting a panel discussion featuring successful community and regional leaders, key employers of our graduates, and UWRF alumni sharing their insights on the essential knowledge, skills, and aptitudes that they believe are critical in preparing our diverse students for successful lives and careers. The forum is Tuesday, March 19, from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Fall Room in the University Center. It event is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided.
 
Renowned Artstream Nomadic Gallery to visit one day only
March 21, 2019 - The nationally renowned Artstream Nomadic Gallery will visit the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on April 1. All are welcome to this day-long event.

March 19, 2019 - Unmanned Ramp Manager, the business idea of University of Wisconsin-River Falls students Jiaxin Li, Lakshmi Priya Girish Kumar, and Soren Netka, took first place at this year’s Innovation Challenge March 13 on campus.
 
Student newspaper honored with six awards
March 11, 2019 - The Student Voice newspaper at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls picked up six awards, including three first place honors, at the Collegiate Newspaper Contest during the annual convention of the Wisconsin Newspaper Association March 8 in Madison.
 
UW-River Falls to host Invention Project® summer day camp for young innovators
March 25, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, in partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame® (NIHF), will host Invention Project®, an innovation-themed summer day camp June 24-28 for children entering grades 6-8.
 
UW-River Falls to host lectures by environmental historian William Cronon
March 21, 2019 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls History and Philosophy Department will host two free public lectures April 3-4 by Professor William Cronon as part of the Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Visiting Professorship in History.
