Live Music Event to Benefit River Falls Community Food Pantry

April 30, 2012-- Rock N Stock, a music event hosted by University of Wisconsin- River Falls Marketing Communication students, will take place at Junior's Bar & Grill on Main Street May 3 from 6 p.m.-2 a.m.  A number of live bands will play throughout the night while UWRF students collect donations for the River Falls Community Food Pantry (RFCFP).  Rock N Stock is free, but a suggested donation of $3 is welcomed.

"After spending three years in River Falls attending the university, it was important for me to give something back to the community before I graduated and moved onto the next chapter of my life," says UWRF student Amanda Carlson. "What better way than to take advantage of UWRF's resources in the Marketing Department and host an event to raise money and awareness for the Food Pantry?"

The funds raised will go towards RFCFP, an award winning non-profit organization that serves any person in need of food, who lives within the River Falls School District. Executive Director for RFCFP Janna Carl says, "Music has always been a great way to bring people of all ages and backgrounds together. What an awesome way to bring people together and support the RFC Food Pantry, and raise awareness of the needs of people in our community!"

Every dollar contributed towards purchasing food is turned into nine dollars worth of food through the Second Harvest Food Bank. For more information about the River Falls Community Food Pantry, visit http://www.rfcfp.org/

The event is open to all ages. For more information, contact christina.sykora@my.uwrf.edu or call 715-410-5957.
