Giving Tuesday: UW-River Falls joins national day of giving May 5

May 1, 2020 – Continuing its efforts to meet the university’s and students’ unprecedented needs caused by COVID-19, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Foundation will participate in #GivingTuesdayNow, an international day of philanthropy and unity on May 5.

Giving Tuesday is traditionally held the week following Thanksgiving. The May event was prompted by the pandemic and resulting needs of non-profit organizations.

Funds raised on Tuesday will primarily support the Falcon Annual Fund, an unrestricted resource that helps support UWRF’s highest priorities. Responding to critical financial needs of UWRF students, supporters have also contributed more than $33,000 to the Student Emergency Fund – surpassing its original goal of $25,000.

“During these challenging times for all of us, UWRF alumni, friends and donors have once again demonstrated their generous commitment to the university, its students and its mission,” said Rick Foy, assistant chancellor for University Advancement. “I express deep appreciation for continued consideration of support to help us meet pressing needs.”

Tax deductible contributions to the UWRF Foundation may be made at the #GivingTuesdayNow website at https://www.uwrf.edu/Give/Waystogive/GiveNow.cfm
