UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
Nov. 5, 2012--Four students from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls have been selected to present their research at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Boston, Feb. 14-18, 2013. All four of the students will present research conducted through the UW-River Falls Tissue and Cellular Innovation Center (TCIC).
“This is one of the premier international science meetings in the world and represents a significant step forward in the participation of the TCIC at that level,” said Tim Lyden, professor of biology and director of the Tissue and Cellular Innovation Center.
Founded in 2001, the mission of the TCIC is to develop a nationally recognized and self-supporting "center of excellence" for research and training in tissue engineering and stem cell biology at UWRF through collaborative interactions with academic, industry and clinical partners.

“Last year we presented one poster at this meeting and the most common comment to Kevin Rixmann was ‘amazing work, can't believe undergrads do this level of research,’" said Lyden. “Needless to say, I was very pleased.”
