2019 Vento Scholarship awarded to UW-River Falls graduate student December 17, 2018 - A graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is the 2019 recipient of the Bruce F. Vento Science Educator Scholarship. Charles William Hunter IV, of Mahtomedi, Minn., is pursuing his master’s degree and licensure as a secondary school science teacher through the university’s STEMteach graduate program.

Physics students receive national recognition December 20, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls chapter of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) recently received an Outstanding Chapter Award from the SPS national office, marking the 20th time the UW-River Falls chapter has been recognized for its excellence as a top-tier student-led physical sciences organization. This designation is given to fewer than 10 percent of all SPS chapters at colleges and universities in the United States and internationally.
