Community invited to roundtable discussion at UW-River Falls April 10

Event is part of Contemporary Political Issues Roundtable Series

March 29, 2023 - Campus and community members are invited to participate in a roundtable discussion at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on the book “The Education Myth, How Human Capital Trumped Social Democracy,” written by UW-Green Bay Professor Jon Shelton.

Shelton studies the history of education, labor, and politics in the U.S. His new book questions the idea that education represents the best, if not the only, way for Americans to access economic opportunity.

The roundtable discussion is Monday, April 10, from 3-4 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic Theater in the University Center. It is free and open to all.

The Contemporary Political Issues Roundtable Series is hosted by the Politics, Geography and International Studies Department. The department hosts several roundtable events annually on a variety of topics. Copies of the book are available for purchase at the UWRF Falcon Shop in the University Center or on the Cornell University Press website. Use code 09BCARD for a discount from Cornell University Press.
