Commencement Set for May 14

May 6, 2011-- An expected 651 bachelor's and 63 master's students will participate in commencement ceremonies at UW-River Falls on May 14.

Two ceremonies will be held at the Knowles Physical Education and Recreation Center. The first begins at 9:30 a.m., and includes graduates from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, and Graduate Studies. The 2 p.m. ceremony includes graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Professional Studies.

Graduating seniors Josh Pritchett, a music major from Stillwater, Minn., and Katelyn Peterson, a music education major from Milaca, Minn., will sing the national anthem at commencement. Pritchett will sing at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony, and Peterson will sing at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Regent Aaron Wingad, Faculty Senate Vice Chair Dawn Hukai, and Student Senate President Jason Kleck will all offer congratulatory messages to the candidates.

Karl Peterson, the 2011 Distinguished Teacher and Juleen Zierath, 2011 Distinguished Alumnus, will also be recognized at commencement.
