Campus Prepares to Break Ground on South Fork Suites Expansion

April 8, 2011—Ground will officially be broken on the expansion of a suite-style residence hall April 19 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

At 2:30 p.m., members of campus will dig their shovels into the ground, signifying that official construction on South Fork II is underway. Expected to be ready for occupancy in the fall of 2012, the addition to the George R. Field South Fork Suites will add 240 new beds for students.

UW System President Kevin Reilly and Senior Vice President for Administration and Fiscal Affairs Michael Morgan will attend the groundbreaking. A reception at the existing South Fork Suites Conference Room will follow the groundbreaking.

Miron Construction, based out of Neenah, will be handling the construction of the addition.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sandi Scott Deux, director of University Housing, at 715-425-4444.
