Anderson Begins Tenure as Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Success at UW-River Falls

July 2, 2013—Kristina "Kris" Anderson has returned to her professional roots to serve as the University of Wisconsin-River Falls' first-ever Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Student Success. Anderson officially rejoined UWRF in her new role on July 1.

"I am thrilled to come back to the River Falls campus," said Anderson. "I started my career here, so the prospect of returning to River Falls in a new position was appealing."

As her title suggests, Anderson will lead institutional efforts in the areas of student recruitment and retention. In addition to serving as a member of the chancellor's cabinet, Anderson will provide oversight of a newly constituted division that includes admissions, international student recruitment and services, marketing, student support services, pre-major advising, tutoring, and new student and family programs.

"I am excited by the direction that the campus is taking in regard to enrollment," Anderson said. "Our students are our lifeblood, so making enrollment and student success a priority makes good sense."

"Associate Vice Chancellor Anderson brings outstanding experience and leadership qualities to UW-River Falls that will help the university to further excel in the areas of student recruitment, retention and success," said UWRF Chancellor Dean Van Galen. "We are delighted to welcome Kris to the UWRF campus as a member of our leadership team."

Anderson served as a student services coordinator and admissions counselor at UWRF from 1993-99. She departed UWRF to become assistant director of admissions for marketing and recruitment at UW-Superior. Prior to rejoining UW-River Falls, Anderson worked at UW-Eau Claire where she served as associate director of admissions from 2001-03 and executive director of enrollment services/director of admissions from 2003-13.

"I look forward to working with faculty, staff, and students collaboratively to advance our enrollment and student experience goals," Anderson said.
