Kids From Wisconsin to perform at UW-River Falls

Show to honor nation’s 250th birthday with tribute to American music

July 9, 2026 — Kids From Wisconsin will perform a free show July 23 at 6 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Melvin Wall Amphitheatre outdoor stage. This will mark the group’s 51st appearance at UWRF since forming in 1969. The show is open to the public.

Join Kids From Wisconsin in their 58th season as they honor the 250th anniversary of the United States with America's great composers, songwriters, musicians and instrumentalists. The show, titled “The Pulse of a Nation,” will salute their creativity, innovation and unforgettable contributions to the world of music.

From the smoky pulse of rhythm and blues to the soaring spirit of jazz, from the electric fire of rock and roll to the raw power of soul, and from chart-topping pop to timeless folk, country and classic Broadway, this live show—brought to life by Wisconsin’s finest young performers—ignites the very heartbeat of American music.

“Summer wouldn’t be complete without the beloved Kids From Wisconsin show,” said Elise Peters, assistant director of student involvement. “It feels like a family reunion here at UWRF. Bring your bug spray, invite your friends and get ready for one of our favorite evenings of the year."

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket to sit on and arrive early to get a good seat. The venue opens at 5 p.m. Pets are allowed, but all pets must remain on a leash.

Grilled food, ice cream and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30. Personal picnics and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed but carry-in alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.

In case of inclement weather, the show will be held in Hunt Arena at the Falcon Center.

Free parking is available in N and G lots. Rain site parking will be available in Pay Lot 3.

The Kids From Wisconsin free concert is made possible thanks to support from the UW-River Falls Foundation, River Falls Municipal Utilities, River Falls Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Board, Ptacek's Family Market and WESTconsin Credit Union. Concert guests are encouraged to experience the vibrant River Falls downtown for food and accommodations before and after the show.
