UW-River Falls to host screening of documentary, “The Librarians,” April 15

April 9, 2026 — Chalmer Davee Library at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host a screening of the documentary film, “The Librarians,” Wednesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. in the Kinnickinnic River Theater in the University Center, 501 Wild Rose Ave. The event is free and open to the public.   

In the film, librarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and First Amendment rights in response to efforts to ban books in cities and states across the country. 

A panel discussion moderated by Library Director Maureen Olle-LaJoie will follow the screening. Panelists include: Tanya Misselt, River Falls Public Library director; Monica LaVold, New Richmond Public Library director and former youth services librarian at River Falls Public Library; Jennifer Johansson, Westside Elementary media specialist; and Mary Miller, River Falls High School media specialist.
