UW-River Falls announces Giving Days April 23-24

Fundraiser offers opportunities to support the next generation of campus leaders and champions

April 16, 2026 — The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host its annual Giving Days fundraiser April 23 and 24, inviting alums, friends and community members to come together in support of students and programs that define the Falcon experience.

This year’s Giving Days comes amid a wave of extraordinary momentum for UWRF. From the grand opening of the state-of-the-art Science and Technology Innovation Center (SciTech) to national recognition for academic excellence and historic achievements in athletics, the university continues to demonstrate what is possible when opportunity meets determination.

UWRF students are making their mark across disciplines. More than 150 students recently showcased original research at the Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity Fall Gala, while faculty continue to earn recognition for excellence in teaching and scholarship. These academic accomplishments are complemented by unprecedented success in athletics, including the university’s first-ever NCAA Division III football national championship, back-to-back NCAA titles in the indoor heptathlon and a third consecutive national title for women’s hockey, solidifying the program as a national dynasty.

“This year, Giving Days feels especially meaningful,” said Rick Foy, assistant Vice Chancellor for University Advancement. “The momentum we’re seeing across campus, from the opening of the transformational SciTech building to our national championships and our academic successes, represents the unique Falcon power of collaboration among students, faculty, staff, donors, alums and friends of UWRF. Giving Days presents the opportunity for our supporters to invest in what comes next here and play an integral role in UWRF’s limitless future.”

Giving Days supports several key funds that directly impact the student experience, including the UWRF Impact Fund, Student Emergency Grant Program, Funds for Excellence across each college and the General Athletics Fund. These funds provide flexible, immediate support, ensuring students have access to resources, opportunities and experiences that shape their future. Donors also have the option of supporting individual athletic programs which are listed on the official UWRF Giving Days webpage

At UWRF, students don’t just earn degrees, they become leaders, innovators and champions in every sense of the word. They engage in hands-on learning, contribute to a vibrant campus community and push themselves for more by participating in a variety of collegiate athletic programs and other activities. This well-rounded experience prepares graduates to make meaningful contributions in their careers and communities.

Supporters are encouraged to make their gift early or participate during Giving Days April 23 and24. Every gift, no matter the size, helps fuel student success and strengthens the future of UWRF.
