April 8, 2026 — The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has named Amy Clark, Ph.D., Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Provost is the university’s chief academic officer and second-ranking official. Clark will begin in the position July 1.
Clark most recently served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Nebraska Methodist College from 2018 to 2025, where she oversaw more than 240 faculty and staff across 25 departments. During her time in the role, Clark was known for guiding initiatives that blended academic excellence with innovation, student success and institutional sustainability.
Clark’s other previous roles include dean of Health Professions at Nebraska Methodist College, inaugural director and visiting professor for the Master of Social Work program at Nebraska Wesleyan University, clinical research coordinator at Nebraska Medical Center and associate professor at Clarkson College.
“I am deeply honored to join UW-River Falls, an institution with a strong sense of community and shared commitment to student success,” Clark said. “I look forward to working alongside faculty, staff and students to advance academic excellence, expand opportunity and ensure every Falcon is supported in achieving their full potential.”
Clark earned her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her Master of Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and her Bachelor of Science in psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
“I am confident that Dr. Clark will provide exceptional leadership in this role,” said Interim Chancellor John Chenoweth. “Her extensive academic background, including service as a faculty member, faculty senate president, program director, dean and provost gives her a uniquely informed perspective that will contribute to academic excellence and student success at UWRF. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Wes Chapin for his steady leadership as interim Provost.”
Clark replaces Chapin, who has held the interim Provost position for the past two years and recently announced his decision to return to the faculty at the end of his interim appointment.
