UW-River Falls announces Falcon Tuition Promise
Wisconsin residents could be eligible for free tuition
Jan. 8, 2026 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls wants to make sure finances are not a barrier for students who want to pursue a college degree. To help remove that barrier, UWRF is introducing the Falcon Tuition Promise, which ensures that eligible first-year Wisconsin students will have all tuition and fees covered after other grants, scholarships and aid are applied.
“We are deeply committed to ensuring that no Wisconsin student is held back from the opportunities a college education provides,” said Interim Chancellor John Chenoweth. “The Falcon Tuition Promise is a meaningful step forward in removing financial barriers and demonstrating our belief that every qualified student deserves access to a UWRF education.”
Students will be automatically considered for the Falcon Tuition Promise after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be eligible, students must qualify for Wisconsin resident tuition, have not already earned a bachelor’s degree or higher, and have a total income of less than or equal to $62,000 and net worth of less than or equal to $300,000 on the FAFSA.
