UWRF Dance Theatre, a modern dance company, has brought an artistic dance program to students with a passion for dance for over 40 years. The organization strives to provide rich dance experiences and performances to River Falls and the surrounding communities. The 2026 Spring Concert features the work of numerous UWRF Dance Theatre alumni, students, faculty and professionals. The evening will showcase diverse dance forms including modern, Peruvian, tap, jazz and contemporary.
- In “A Lady Keeps Her Hands Clean,” choreographed by alum choreographer Emma Knopse, a detective is drawn into a puzzling case as a group of affluent women respond eagerly to a murder accusation. Bursting with high-energy jazz and tap, the piece delivers theatrical suspense from beginning to end.
- Student choreographer Laura Klein’s “Unsettled Identity” explores life after graduation, where growth is intertwined with nostalgia, loss and lingering feelings of uncertainty about what comes next.
- Guest artist Danielle Ricci Cheng worked with her dancers to create movement themes exploring issues society experiences like greed and how it effects our political systems, communities and lives. In the face of adversity, the cast of this piece, “beat down but not broken,” stands resilient with hope.
- In “Odin’s Warriors,” a full-company work by faculty choreographer Mari Kline-Kluck, Norse warriors storm the battlefield in pursuit of honor and glory where only the most valiant are chosen to fight beside Odin. Filled with fierce, expansive movement, the piece engulfs the stage with power and leaves audiences eager for more.
UWRF Dance Theatre invites all to share in an evening or Sunday matinee filled with artistic expression through dance. For more information, visit uwrfdancetheatre.org.
