UW-River Falls to present author talk and book signing with alum Gloria Meyer
River Falls, Wis. – University of Wisconsin-River Falls alum Gloria Meyer will share her experiences working in psychology and introduce her inspiring children’s book series, “We Always Have a Choice,” at an author talk and book signing Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 3 p.m. in UWRF's Chalmer Davee Library, 330 E. Cascade Ave., River Falls. The event is free and open to the public. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
In the series, Meyer, a 2011 UWRF graduate with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in creative writing, draws deeply from her experiences working with children in therapeutic settings, offering meaningful stories that empower young readers to understand their emotions and make thoughtful choices.
Meyer writes in “Mean or Kind,” the first book in the series, "No one comes into the world mean. Most of the time, there is something behind the behavior. What if we paused to learn more before jumping to conclusions? In my own life, I have often encountered people who seem difficult or unkind. I have learned to listen first and only respond when they are open to hearing me."
