UW-River Falls presents American classic, “The Glass Menagerie”

Oct. 1, 2025 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Music and Stage and Screen Arts Department will present Tennessee Williams’ timeless masterpiece, “The Glass Menagerie” October 15-19.

Hailed as one of the most influential dramas in American theater, “The Glass Menagerie” is a hauntingly poetic portrait of a family teetering on the edge of reality and illusion.

Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, the play invites audiences into the misty memory of Tom Wingfield—a restless dreamer trapped between duty and desire. His mother, Amanda, clings to faded memories of Southern charm, while his painfully shy sister, Laura, finds solace in her delicate glass animal collection.

When a gentleman caller arrives, the family dares to hope for transformation. But will this visitor ignite a new beginning, or shatter their fragile world?
