NY Times bestselling author to speak Oct. 3 

Sept. 19, 2025 – The Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Speaker Series will present featured speaker Steven Levitsky on Friday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the Kinnikinnick River Theater in the University Center, 501 Wild Rose Ave. Levitsky will deliver a talk titled “An Urgent Call to Save Our Democracy.” The event is free and open to the public. 

Levitsky, a New York Times bestselling author, is the David Rockefeller professor of Latin American studies and a professor of government at Harvard University, where he serves on the executive committee for the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs and the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies. He is Senior Fellow at the Kettering Foundation and a Senior Democracy Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. His research focuses on democratization and authoritarianism, political parties, and weak and informal institutions, with a focus on Latin America.     

A reception with light refreshments will begin at 3:30 p.m. outside the theater.
