Orientation and Move-In Day

Start Your Engines - Get Ready for Life in the Falcon Fast Lane!

All new Falcons will kick off their time at UWRF with Orientation! Orientation is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 30, and Monday, Aug. 31. All first-year, transfer and commuter students are expected to attend both days of Orientation. 

• Day 1 will begin at 9 a.m. at Ramer Field, near the Falcon Center.
• Day 2 will begin at 9 a.m. in the University Center (UC).

Breakfast will be available both days beginning at 8 a.m. in Riverside Commons in the UC. Commuter and transfer students are welcome to join us for breakfast as well. This is where commuters can pick up their student IDs!

Specific Orientation schedules will vary by residence hall and those schedule details will be sent to students' UWRF emails prior to Move In. They'll also be posted throughout the residence halls.

The third and final component of the new student orientation process is Falcon 101. Falcon 101 will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1. During this event, new students will meet with their respective academic departments and meet the faculty, staff and fellow students that are a part of their major or area of study. Move In and Family Fest

If you are planning on living on campus, new student Move In is Saturday, Aug. 29. Move In information will be sent to your UWRF email directly from Residence Life and more information about living on campus can be found on the Residence Life webpage. 

On move-in day, parents, families and supporters assisting students with move in are welcome to dine in Riverside Commons at the (UC) and participate in the fun of Family Fest from noon-4 p.m., also at the UC. More information on Family Fest and all Week of Welcome (WOW) activities can be found on the WOW webpage. Riverside Commons will be open all day for new students and their families/Move In supporters on move-in day.

Orientation is a crucial step in your transition to campus. 

With all the stress, change and transition that comes with beginning college and your journey at UWRF, Orientation is designed to help YOU. We want you to be successful here and attending Orientation is the first step to finding your Falcon success! A variety of sessions, activities, tours and speakers held throughout the two days of Orientation will help familiarize you with UWRF and welcome you to Falcon Family. Orientation Leaders (OLs) and current UWRF students (that have been in your shoes!), will guide you through the entire Orientation process!

During Orientation, you will:

• Connect with important offices and departments across campus.
• Learn about wellness, involvement opportunities and financial aid at UWRF.
• Build connections with your peers.
• Pick up textbooks.
• Meet faculty, staff and other students from your academic area of study. 
• Get the inside scoop on the fun events planned for Week of Welcome!
