Chancellor Dean Van Galen presented Steve Wilcox with the Distinguished Alumnus Award during spring commencement May 11.

Wilcox named 2019 Distinguished Alumnus 

May 21, 2019 – Lancaster native Steve Wilcox was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus during spring commencement ceremonies May 11 at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
 
Chancellor Dean Van Galen presented Wilcox with the Distinguished Alumnus Award commenting that it was a well-deserved honor and thanked him for the many ways he has given back to his alma mater.
 
As the Distingushed Alumnus, Wilcox addressed the more than 900 graduates who filled Knowles Field House at the Falcon Center, sharing words of wisdom and inspiration.
 
“As you take the education you received, the network of people you have developed and the confidence of your education to impose your footprint on tomorrow, each of you will fly high to make an impact on the lives of others,” he said.
 
After graduating from UW-River Falls in 1974 with a degree in biology, Wilcox spent more than 40 years in business. He is currently president and founder of The Resultants, a leading Twin Cities business advisory firm.
 
Wilcox has many family ties to UWRF beginning with his parents (’49, ‘50), wife Terri (‘77), in-laws (’48, ’50), and two brothers-in-law (‘73, ‘76). He and his wife reside in Hudson and have two adult children, Chris (Kristen) and Kiira (Nick).
