Undergraduate research, scholarly and creative activities to be showcased virtually

December 8, 2020 – The public is invited to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2020 Fall Gala, an annual showcase event to celebrate the research, scholarly and creative activities of undergraduates, on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 6-8 p.m.

This year’s event will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams. Before the gala, students are submitting a video presentation for viewers to see. The videos can be viewed here. The evening of the event, students will be grouped into different channels where they will be able to share and further discuss their projects. Attendees will be able to join these different channels and engage with student presenters with any comments or questions they may have about a particular project.

This family friendly event is free and open to the public. Attendees need to register via this website by December 14 to receive the event login link.

Throughout the year, UW-River Falls fosters the development of student research skills through trainings and workshops, grant funding to conduct and present research, and local, state, and national dissemination opportunities. Regularly scheduled trainings include workshops on research ethics, grant and proposal writing, research budgets, presentation skills, and research poster design.

"UW-River Falls has long been recognized for its exceptional undergraduate research programming and opportunities, and we are state and national leaders in this area," said Earl Blodgett, URSCA director. “Our students and faculty have risen to the challenge of finding creative solutions to performing scholarly projects under the restrictions of living with a pandemic. I am very proud of the students and mentors who will be showcased at the gala!”
