UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN River Falls
September 14, 2021 – U.S. News & World Report has again named the University of Wisconsin-River Falls a Best Regional University, a Top Public University and a Top Performer on Social Mobility.
The newest rankings appear in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 edition of Best Colleges. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence.
“Recognition by U.S. News and World Report is to be celebrated across campus,” said Chancellor Maria Gallo. “Our commitment to academic excellence and student success is demonstrated daily in and out of the classroom. I am proud of the important work of our faculty, instructors, advisers and employees who remain steadfast in their dedication to the success of our students.”
In the survey, UW-River Falls was recognized for its focus on social mobility, supporting economically disadvantaged students who are less likely than others to finish college.
“Education is the number one way to positively change one’s socio-economic status so advancing social mobility is key to UWRF’s student success efforts,” said Assistant Chancellor for Student Success Jamie Zamjahn. “We are here to support each and every student and make this happen no matter their resources. Our priority is understanding how best to ensure their success.”
Student-to-faculty ratios and smaller class sizes were also acknowledged, both of which provide better access to instructors and support a student-centered learning environment.
