UW-River Falls recognized for excellence by U.S. News & World Report

September 24, 2018 - U.S. News & World Report has again named the University of Wisconsin-River Falls a Best Regional University, Top Public University, and Best Undergraduate Business University.

The newest ranking appears in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 edition of Best Colleges. Schools are ranked according to their performance across a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence. UW-River Falls was among nine University of Wisconsin System schools to be honored and ranked highly in average first-year student retention, student-to-faculty ratios and smaller class sizes which provide better access to instructors.

“Once again the university’s focus on creating an exceptional academic experience has been recognized by a prestigious national publication,”said Chancellor Dean Van Galen. “I am extremely proud of the commitment to excellence demonstrated by UW-River Falls faculty, staff, and students in support of our vibrant and student-centered campus.”

This year’s rankings come as the university welcomes 1,312 new students to campus.

The annual survey assesses more than 18,000 U.S. based colleges and universities. The publication’s rankings are calculated for nearly 1,500 public and private four-year institutions in 15 key areas such as graduation and retention rates, financial resources, faculty resources and student selectivity.
