Baumann named CAFES Outstanding Faculty Member May 2, 2019 - Larry Baumman, professor of animal science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, received the 2019 Outstanding Faculty Award at the 53rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet hosted by the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) on April 18. The award is the highest award bestowed upon a faculty member in the college and is made more meaningful because the recipients are nominated and selected by their peers in the college.
CAFES awards 2019 scholarships and recognizes outstanding service May 2, 2019 – Students, family members, donors, faculty and staff gathered April 18 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club for the 53rd Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet hosted by the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Over the course of the evening, 177 scholarships totaling $187,000 were awarded to continuing students for the 2019-20 academic year.

UW-River Falls benefits from thoughtful planning of alumnus Wayne Lafferty May 13, 2019 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has received a generous gift from the estate of 1958 graduate Wayne Lafferty. The donation will be used to create a permanent endowment, the Wayne N. Lafferty Scholarship Fund, providing approximately $17,500 annually in scholarship support based on student financial need.
UW-River Falls to begin dual credit program with River Falls High School May 17, 2019 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls entered into a groundbreaking agreement with the River Falls School District May 9 that offers River Falls High School students the opportunity to take UWRF courses at the high school beginning in the fall.
Western Team places second in the nation at IHSA Nationals May 13, 2019 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Western Team is AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) Trophy Reserve National Champions, the highest honor the team has earned in its history at UWRF. The team earned 41 points to secure this top placement at IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association) Nationals in Syracuse, N.Y., May 3-6.
