March 22, 2018 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will welcome featured composer Young Jo Lee to Abbott Concert Hall on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. for the university’s 52nd Commissioned Composer concert. The concert is free and open to the public.
 
Art historian and critic to headline UW-River Falls Wyman Visiting Professorship in Art
March 20, 2018 – American art historian and critic James Elkins will visit the University of Wisconsin-River Falls as the Spring 2018 Walker D. and Helen Bryant Wyman Visiting Professor in Art March 23-27. He will give a free public lecture “How Animals See the World” on Monday, March 26, at 5 p.m. in 222 North Hall.
 
Cumings to headline Wyman Visiting Professorship in History
March 15, 2018 – Bruce Cumings, an expert on the history of the Korean War and the Gustavus F. and Ann M. Swift Distinguished Service Professor in History at the University of Chicago, will speak at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls March 28 and 29.
 
Dance Theatre’s annual spring concert April 4-7
March 23, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Dance Theatre will present their annual spring concert nightly April 4-7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Blanche Davis Theatre in Kleinpell Fine Arts. The public is invited.

March 22, 2018 - The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has graduated its fourth Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) cohort.
 
Faculty receive four grants totaling $511,105
March 29, 2018 – University of Wisconsin-River Falls faculty recently brought in more than half a million dollars in teaching and undergraduate research grants to the institution through four separate proposals.
 
Grammy-nominated recording engineer to visit UW-River Falls
March 19, 2018 – Bruce Leek, who has nearly 500 engineering and recording credits over a career spanning over four decades, will visit Abbott Concert Hall at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls March 19-25.
 
IHSA Western Show Team members advance to nationals
March 26, 2018 - Seven members of the UW-River Falls Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Western Show Team are advancing to the IHSA National Championships May 3-6 in Harrisburg, Pa.
 
IHSA Western Show Team named regional champions
March 9, 2018 - Finishing 48 points in the lead after the final regular season show on February 17, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) Western Show Team was named 2017-18 Zone 7 Region 3 Team Champions.
 
International Bazaar set for April 3
March 29, 2018 – The Global Programming Society at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is hosting an International Bazaar Tuesday, April 3, from 7-9 p.m. in the Falcon’s Nest in the University Center. The event is free and open to the public.
 
Lanning named director of athletics at UW-River Falls
March 19, 2018 – Crystal Lanning has been named director of athletics at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Lanning, who has served as interim athletic director since 2016, will assume her permanent duties April 1.

Seniors present BFA exhibitions
March 23, 2018 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls seniors Gretchen Askew, Joe P. Bertelsen, Emily Holman, and JJ Knapp will present their BFA work in Gallery 101 in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building March 30-April 10. On display will be glass, ceramics, graphic design, printmaking, painting, mixed media two-dimensional works, and three-dimensional sculptures.
 
Songen takes first place in Innovation Challenge competition
March 9, 2018 – Songen, a business concept that’s the brainchild of a team of University of Wisconsin-River Falls students, took first place in Thursday’s annual Innovation Challenge, coordinated by the university’s Center for Innovation and Business Development (CIBD).

Travis named provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs
David Travis, dean of the College of Letters and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, has accepted an offer to become provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Travis’ first day on campus will be June 15.
 
UWRF working to contain dormitory overflows and grow more orderly
Just adjacent to the northwest corner of campus is the Best Western Plus Campus Inn, a hotel that once served as the university’s overflow for extended on-campus housing prior to the completion of Ames Suites in 2012.

UW-River Falls to host 58th Annual Agricultural Technology Contest
March 15, 2018 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will host the 58th Annual Agricultural Technology Contest on Saturday, March 24. The contest includes a series of career development events hosted by the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES). More than 1,000 students are expected to compete in 16 team events and three additional contest opportunities.
 
UW-River Falls to host bull buying seminar for St. Croix Valley Bull Test April 7
March 27, 2018 - The University of Wisconsin-River Falls, St. Croix Valley Bull Test, and the UW-River Falls Student Beef Management Team will host a bull buying educational seminar on Saturday, April 7. Topics related to herd management decisions will be covered and there will be an opportunity to preview the 46 bulls that will be for sale later in April.

March 2, 2018 -- The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is hosting the Wisconsin-Minnesota Meat Processing School March 20-21. The school is jointly sponsored by UW-River Falls, the University of Wisconsin Extension, the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors and the University of Minnesota Extension.
