Chapin named associate vice chancellor
Longtime faculty member Wes Chapin has been named the associate vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He has served as interim associate vice chancellor in that position for nearly three years. The associate vice chancellor is the lead academic administrator responsible for program audit and review, learning assessment, institutional accreditation and faculty development.
 
Computer science teacher license now offered through UW-River Falls STEMteach program
Students enrolled in the University of Wisconsin-River Falls STEMteach graduate teacher licensure program may now chose to earn a Wisconsin license to teach computer science. The university has recently received approval from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to offer this additional license to qualified individuals.
 
Cross-cultural agreement signed with Polish university
Cooperation between the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a major Polish university is creating new opportunities for cross-cultural exchanges for Health and Human Performance students.
 
Hewitt named 2016 Distinguished Alumnus at UW-River Falls
Brad Hewitt, CEO of Thrivent Financial, was honored as the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls commencement in May. A native of Minneapolis, Hewitt graduated from UW-River Falls in 1982 with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. Hewitt later completed the Harvard Graduate School of Business Program for Management Development in 1995.
 
Students and professor selected for $25,000 Ideadvance Grants
University of Wisconsin-River Falls Director for the Center for Innovation and Business Development Danielle Campeau announced today that students Michael Mader and Edward Matsushima and Associate Professor of Physics Matthew Vonk have each been selected for a $25,000 Ideadvance grant.
