Chapin named associate vice chancellor Longtime faculty member Wes Chapin has been named the associate vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He has served as interim associate vice chancellor in that position for nearly three years. The associate vice chancellor is the lead academic administrator responsible for program audit and review, learning assessment, institutional accreditation and faculty development.
Hewitt named 2016 Distinguished Alumnus at UW-River Falls Brad Hewitt, CEO of Thrivent Financial, was honored as the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls commencement in May. A native of Minneapolis, Hewitt graduated from UW-River Falls in 1982 with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics. Hewitt later completed the Harvard Graduate School of Business Program for Management Development in 1995.

UW-River Falls launches exchange program with Mexican university The University of Wisconsin-River Falls has finalized details establishing an Experience Puebla exchange program at the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP), a private university that offers 42 undergraduate programs in Puebla, Mexico.
UW-River Falls to host community picnic July 26 In celebration of UW-River Falls and the value it brings to the local region, the university will host a community picnic on Tuesday, July 26, from 5-6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, with a required RSVP by July 21.
