UW-River Falls Distinguished Alumnus and Teacher to be Honored at Spring 2014 Commencement

May 12, 2014 - An expected 760 degree candidates will participate in commencement ceremonies at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday, May 17. Two ceremonies will be held at the Robert P. Knowles Recreation Center. The first, at 9:30 a.m., includes candidates from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, the College of Business and Economics, and Graduate Studies. The 2 p.m. ceremony includes candidates from the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Education and Professional Studies. 

During the ceremonies, the 2014 UW-River Falls Distinguished Alumnus and Distinguished Teacher will be recognized. 

Julie L. Bushman, senior vice president, 3M Business Transformation and IT, is the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus. Over the past 30 years she has risen through the ranks to become one of 3M's top executives. As senior vice president for Business Transformation and Information Technology, Julie leads the development and implementation of the company's ERP infrastructure, global business process and service delivery models, and Corporate Information Technology.

Physics Professor Earl Blodgett is the 2014 Distinguished Teacher. This award, the highest honor that a faculty member can receive from the university, recognizes excellence in both teaching and mentoring students. He will deliver the commencement address at the fall 2014 ceremony in December.
