Former UW-River Falls Montessori program director honored with innovation award
University of Wisconsin-River Falls Professor Emerita and former Montessori Program Director Gay Ward was honored with the Dennis Schapiro Award for Innovation in Montessori Teacher Education earlier this month. The award, presented by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) is given annually to a member of the Montessori Teacher Education community that has brought about significant change. Ward was recognized for her multitude of contributions to Montessori education throughout Wisconsin, the United States, and internationally.

The holiday season is here. Let Falcon Foods give you a hand with your holiday preparation. Students are hard at work making Falcon Foods cheese, ice cream, and summer sausage in the UW-River Falls College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences Dairy Pilot Plant and Meat Pilot Plant. Cheese and ice cream are produced using milk from the UW-River Falls Mann Valley Farm and summer sausage is produced from livestock raised on the Mann Valley Farm, as well as from local farms.

Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activities showcased at UW-River Falls 2016
The public is invited to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2016 Fall Gala, an annual showcase event to celebrate the research, scholarly and creative activities of more than 150 undergraduates, on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 5-7:30 p.m. in the Riverview Ballroom of the University Center. Stop in anytime as your schedule allows during the free, child-friendly event.
 
UW-River Falls alumnus receives national award for opioid treatment work
UW-River Falls alumnus Richard Moldenhauer has been named the 2016 recipient of the National Nyswander/Dole “Marie” Award presented by the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD) for his extraordinary service in the opioid treatment community. Moldenhauer was presented the award at the National AATOD Conference in Baltimore, Md., in November.
 
UW-River Falls Career Treks connect students to industry professionals
Over the course of three months during the fall semester, College of Business and Economics (CBE) students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls visited four companies as part of the inaugural Career Treks series sponsored by UWRF Career Services and CBE. The free event series provided unique opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals, broaden their awareness of career paths, and develop and expand their professional networks.
 
UW-River Falls Fall Commencement is Dec. 17
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls will hold its fall commencement at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, in the Robert P. Knowles Physical Education and Recreation Center on campus. A total of 470 bachelor's and master's degree candidates have applied for graduation.
