Chancellor Gallo's statement on UW System tuition increase

March 31, 2023 - University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor Maria Gallo issued the following statement following this week's Board of Regents meeting:

I want to thank the UW System Board of Regents for approving a modest tuition increase this week. Increasing tuition is not a decision that any of us take lightly, as affordability to our students must remain paramount. After a decade of frozen tuition while costs have risen markedly due to inflation, UW-River Falls, like every campus, must review its revenue sources if we are to continue to offer the quality of education and support programming that our students request and deserve. Our overall cost of attendance will still be one of the lowest in the UW System, meaning UW-River Falls remains an excellent investment where students can access outstanding educational opportunities at a very affordable price.
