Calling all Falcons! Volunteers needed now for COVID-19 case intake, contact tracing


September 24, 2020 - UW-River Falls has an urgent need for volunteers for COVID-19 student case intake and contact tracing. Both roles may be fulfilled remotely and safely from your home or office. The opportunities do not require in-person service.

Testing site intake role

  • Tasks: coordinate “telehealth” consultation visits with students immediately after they receive a positive test result from our testing site.
  • Requirements: ability to manage technology and coordinate telehealth visits, ability to effectively communicate with students, ability to follow strict public health protocols.
  • Training: on-the-job training is provided.
  • Hours: shifts are flexible and the actual work varies based on the number of positive cases.

Contact tracing role

  • Tasks: manage assigned student case load, communicate with assigned cases daily, use public health systems to document case updates daily
  • Requirements: ability to effectively communicate with students, ability to follow strict public health protocols, detail oriented, ability to problem solve, ability to maintain confidential information 
  • Training: five-hour online training required plus on-the-job training
  • Hours – flexible
