Ackerman receives Lydecker Student Research Award
April 5, 2021 – Senior Sophie Ackerman has been named the recipient of the 2021 Drs. Ann and William Lydecker Student Research Award at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
 
Community COVID-19 testing moves back to UWRF campus, no testing May 3-7
April 29, 2021 – The community COVID-19 testing site at Hoffman Park in River Falls has closed but will re-open soon on the UW-River Falls campus. To accommodate a smooth transition, there will be no testing the week of May 3-7.
 
Eight students honored with Chancellor’s Award at UW-River Falls
April 27, 2021 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls recently bestowed its highest non-academic honor on eight students. The Chancellor’s Award for Students recognizes students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, excellence and service, both on campus and in the community. Recipients must also have shown a commitment to UWRF’s core values, as well as positive and inspiring personal traits and contributions in areas such as undergraduate research, inclusivity and global education
 
Student newspaper receives eight awards in statewide contest; student wins broadcasting award
April 14, 2021 - The Student Voice student newspaper at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls has received eight awards in the 2020 Collegiate Better Newspaper Contest, the Wisconsin Newspaper Association Foundation announced April 13.
 
Student selected to present research at national symposium
April 13, 2021 – University of Wisconsin-River Falls senior Dannie Esterline has been selected to present their research, Utilizing Art Therapy as a Tool for Queer and Transgender Youth Identity Exploration, at the 2021 Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium at Johns Hopkins University April 24-25.
 
Support to those impacted by latest Twin Cities police shooting and protests
April 14, 2021-We acknowledge that the fatal shooting of Daunte Wright on April 11 by a member of a police force has felt traumatic for some in our Falcon community, pain that is of course magnified by its having occurred during the trial of Derek Chauvin. We would like to call on our UWRF community to be compassionate and offer support to those who might be struggling with yet another tragic event so close to our campus home.
 
UW-River Falls chancellor finalists named
April 19, 2021—University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson today announced five finalists for the position of chancellor at University of Wisconsin–River Falls, a university with approximately 6,000 students and more than 70 areas of study in four distinct colleges.
 
UW-River Falls to hold limited in-person commencement May 1
April 15, 2021 – In a sign that traditional college experiences are slowly returning to campus, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls is planning a limited in-person commencement for its spring graduates on Saturday, May 1.
 
Williams is 2021 Commissioned Composer at virtual concert April 21
April 12, 2021 – The University of Wisconsin-River Falls Music Department will present its 55th Annual Commissioned Composer Program featuring Composer Evan Williams April 19-21. The public is invited via Zoom.
